From our friends at the King County Sheriff’s Office:

A tense situation in SeaTac came to a peaceful resolution recently, thanks to excellent work by deputies on-scene.

Early Sunday morning, Nov. 17, 2019 at about 4:00 a.m., in the 14600 block of 24th Ave S. (map below), a male under the influence of drugs and suffering from a mental crisis was acting erratically.

Police learned the male had armed himself with a loaded handgun and was waving it in the air while walking around inside the house. The suspect believed there were people outside trying to get him. He fired at least two shots from a handgun out of his back bedroom window. No one was hit or hurt.

Once deputies were able to get others safely out of the house, a Sergeant was able to get the suspect on the phone. After a 40 minute conversation, he was able to talk the suspect into leaving the house without his handgun.

The suspect was arrested without incident and later booked into jail. The handgun was placed into evidence.
