It will be a red-carpet style unveiling of the annual Gold Star Award Winners, which have become a well-known and prestigious awards in our community.
“It’s the schools version of the Academy Awards!” said HSF Executive Director Ashley Fosberg.
The awards are:
- Outstanding Teacher

Last year’s Alumus winner was Brad Tilden, President and CEO of Alaska Airlines. Last year’s Outstanding Teacher winner was Beverly Mowrer from New Start High School—and alternative school in our district—Beverly went on to win the highly prestigious KCTS Golden Apple Award for Outstanding Teacher (read about that here). So as these previous winners demonstrate—these awards are a big deal.
The BASH will be the first time the 2012 winners are announced, and parents, teachers, school staff, community members are all invited.
Tickets are just $15 each, and include drinks, food, dancing, and a great community celebration – buy yours online here!
“We will raffle two tickets anywhere Alaska Airlines flies at this event,” added Fosberg, “and give the vouchers to the winner that night!”
The Production Shop is located at 14635 9th Ave SW in Burien.
